Brake Problems - Tundra Calipers on 4Runner
#21
Can I ask why you took it to Toyota. I don't do that where I live. I'd rather take it down to my mechanic that we've used for years. They actually did the brake conversion when I had my Accord.

Well, got the truck back last night and after they re-bench bled the MC, and then the whole system again, along with putting on a set of OEM front pads to replace whatever came with the reman. calipers, things feel much better! Fairly firm pedal feel (still not as good as other cars I've driven, or even my newer Tacoma, but good), and the brakes will now actually lock up and kick in the ABS if you stomp on them.
To be honest, I don't think the techs at the dealer are that great, but I don't really have the time to shop around at the small places around town to find a good mechanic. Also, in this case I just finished putting a new engine and rear axle in the truck, and want to take it out on a camping trip this weekend, so I just wanted the work done, otherwise I probably would have spent another couple weeks messing around with it myself!
On a side note, anyone know a good independent Toyota shop in the Sac area?
