I noticed a slight loss of oil a while ago (1/2 qt. over 3500 miles) and could not pinpoint a leak or smell burning oil ever.

I got an engine oil sealer and put it in the crankcase, ran it for 500 miles and then changed the oil. I have not been able to detect a loss yet.

I did however find the souce of the problem the other day. Noticing that oil was coating the top of the front diff. One of the bolts that mounts the front of the clutch/transmission housing to the rear of the engine was gone, compleatly. If you were looking at it from the back to front it would be at about 5 oclock'. I assume oil only leakes out under high oil preassure, hence no garage puddles.

Of course this should be fixed but how should I do it. Can I just slam a bolt in there and call it a day, mechanic, dealership? About how mush $?
