Those wheels are a lot less ugly than a lot of 22's. I'd imagine if it's the same overall diameter as stock (265/70/16 and ???/??/22) you should have no issues with rubbing.

Caddilac offers 22 inch rims on the Escalade. (a GM product)

And if you got the rims cheap, go for it, if thats your taste. I just dont understand how people can drop 2-3 grand on rims when you could drop 2-3 grand in off-road perfomance that will get you places, oposed to looks.

True: Caddys do offer 22" as an option.

The guy just asked a question...and everyone is jumping his ass. It's all personal preferance what someone would like to spend their money on. I personally don't care for such a large diameter rim on such a small vehicle. But, I'm not going to bash someone for wanting something they like or enjoy.

look on cardomain and alot of people run 22s so i wouldnt see why it would not fit on yours.

and i agree from what someone said earlier that those are not some bad looking big rims.

Im quoting a famous rapper.
I personally like huge rims, i believe if you have the clearence you should try and get some bigger tires to fit them also, if its on an suv.
Thus being said
"26 inches make you sit up like a truck (naw)
I use to give a Da** but I never gave a fu**"

Just cause I felt like it.

OH, and everyone needs to stop giving this guy crap, he just asked a question, And like everyone else on here he just wants a simple answer

the green 4runner in the picture isn't actually half bad, clean and tasteful done, not flashy at all, IMHO. i like the painted calipers, too. heck i've seen lowered 3rd gen. here on the board. don't take it too seriously, some times some how everybody wants to be a comedian.

one thing i'm curious is how's the ride. those low-pro tires, specially the "Z" rated ones are hard as a rock, when they team up with some ~10-year old shocks and springs(i assume), i don't know....

Hey thanks for all the reply's guys! I really do know what off-road guys are saying. I off-road lots with my 4Runner. Hence why my winter tire's are cooper stt's. I haven't put the rims on my exact 4Runner yet, I drove the one in the picture (my cousins) and the ride was fine. I got the rubber and rims for 1800$ (CAN) so I couldn't pass it up. I plan on ordering the sonoran 7.2 kit soon (no after-market bumpers/receiver hitch). I really like how the 4Runner's look with nice rims on them...compared to a Jimmy or Blazer, the 4Runner looks amazing. I need the best of both worlds. I have a cabin at a remote private lake in the Canadian Shield. It will be a little work each time I want to go off-roading or to the lake but switching up to the cooper's will have to be done.

i think 22" rims look good on 4 runners 96&up. i also think boggers look good 2!

there will be haters know matter what you do, beware lol.....

why don't you all have some more haterade jk lol..

don't worry about your brakes, i run 33" tires on my 2000 taco and the brakes are fine.

as for safety, i don't see how they could be unsafe?

I have a theory on 22" rims. Originally when "Hot Wheels" cars where made, they made the rims and tires to look as close to possible as the real life versions both stock and after market. Then for cost and uniformity reasons they made the rims and tires one piece with mostly a cromed face to look expensive and very similar to the 22" with low profile tires look that had not been invented yet. The little kids became accustomed to the look and as they got older thought that cheap "Mattel hot Wheels" look was cool (they didn't know any better) and look what happened. A cost cutting cheap crappy look became the desired Bling bling. JMO

Maybe I was wrong. I did miss what diameter of tire your running and the width, this has nothing to do with rim diameter. No I didn't miss them they weren't listed. Even listed some sugestions on how to find out by comparing to known tire sizes. Nope doesn't seem to be enough. So I go back to my orginal conculsion that this is another drama ploy, which do seem to crop up from time to time. A third sugestion get a tape measure out. You could also pose this question over on pirate.

I doubt the guy was initially going for any type of drama..especially since he's a canuck..ha!
But I do agree with you. The original post stated nothing regarding the tire size, which is pretty much useless. So will a 22 fit? yes, just as good as a 16 and 17 and etc. will fit. But what matters is the the rubber that wraps the metal.

yes I knew there would be some hater's on this thread.
You'll get better quality responses with better quality questions/information. Provide your tire size and other specs for the tires on the 22s. What is your wheel offset or backspacing?

My personal opinion is that you want to go with the smallest rim diameter that still meets your needs. There is a tire theory that says that an aspect ratio of 0.75 is ideal from the perspective of tire sidewall strength, handling and ride quality. So if you have a tread width of 265 (stock) your sidewall height would be about 7.8 inches. You'd then have about a 37 inch diameter tire! LOL

Like it or not, 22s will require some sort of compromise on handling and ride quality. Your sidewalls will need to be very stiff. Too stiff and you tend to find that side to side traction is lost suddenly as opposed to gradually. Be careful in the wet or snow.
