Anti-Rust

I'm going to have a steel bar welded to my frame...the bar has been powdercoated but where it is to be welded will be exposed. What can I spray on to protect against rust and corrosion? Thanks.

I used some of that rubberized undercoating they sell at checkers when I patched up my truck bed. Haven't had any rust come through yet, and thats in 8 months or so, even behind the tires which is where the magchloride tends to hit hardest.

If I have rust on my undercarriage, can I use this stuff on the existing rust to get rid of it and coat the rest of the undercarriage to help prevent more rust fom coming?
