98 3.4L 250K Maintenance Recommendations
My 1998 T-100 manual trans 4x4 with 250,000 miles has had no repair or maintenance except lube, brakes, shocks and muffler since 60K. Finally started running rough so it’s going to the shop. I know there are a lot of things that need to be done but I don’t want to spend a ton and the whole thing crap-out in 10k miles. I am looking for a list of “must do”, “while you’re in there”, and “would be nice” kind of thing. Of course, belts, hoses, plugs, wires, etc and the timing belt has seen twice its recommended life so that and the water pump. Crank and shaft seals, tensioners, etc. worth it at this point. If the timing belt has lasted this long, it may outlive the truck? The O2 sensor couldn’t be good any more I wouldn’t think. The worst thing is that I have been loosing some oil and coolant so the head gasket may be gone. Valve covers have leaked for a long time and may gave just gotten worse. Any recommendations on the transmission, transaxle, differentials, etc?
This is my daily driver and a new Tacoma would be hard to swing anytime in the near future. Plus, it’s wearing a set of BFG KOs with a lot of life in them.

Thanks
Valves never adjusted.
So wait till the timing belt breaks or hope it doesn’t? Is it probable that one could make it 350K?
My post meant to question whether crank and cam seals, tensioners, etc should be replaces with the timing belt, not state they were going to be.
What major things should I evaluate before sinking money in preventative repairs such as timing belt? Compression?
