'95 4Runner Nerf Bars
Is it my imagination, or does no one make step bars for '95 Runners? I've checked numerous product catologs and noticed for instance, Westin only makes them for 90-92 models; Manik did not appear to have any either, neither did Smittybilt(I think). I'm looking for a "no-drilling" application. Somebody help!

Smitts will fit you.
I sold my Sure Step Smitty's to a member here.
They will fit all 2nd gens from '90 to '95.

Do drilling involved.
Check with Central 4WD & Perf.

They were very easy to install, once i got my hands on an air impact gun. I broke a tool and bent a broom pole trying to install them with hand tools.

The black Sure Steps I had go for around $199.

found my genuine steel step molded side bars from 4wheelparts.com. not sure if they'll fit on yours as mine is a 90 but I seem to recall they were advertised as a 90-95 application. side note... when they were mounted the installer opted to do some welding aound the bolts to add stability. guess they'll be on there for a while. I haven't been home yet to see the finished product as I work in Germany ....the wife say's they're great though. She wishes I'd leave her rig alone but I'm hooked on Mod's.

Just keep in mind, the bolt on Smitty's are very weak.. They are held on with 1 bolt in the rear and on the top to boot.. one hit from below and they are into your rocker.. IMHO, go with sliders.. most do, and they offer protection unlike the Smitty's

Forget the nerf bars---invest in sliders!!
These are mine-

I can still stand up on them to wash the roof, but I am more concerned with the protection they offer.

I didn't like how the Smittybilts didn't cover the length of the two doors so I got mine from a small company in Georgia. They are chrome and cost me about $270 and came with a 6 year warranty.

runninclean,
Do you think you could put up a pic of those running boards?
I'd also like to know the name of the company and maybe a website if they have one.
Thanks

These are the best pics I have. I can't remember the exact website I bought them from. They are made by Wildcat Flash so do a search and see what you come up with. Everything Offroad has some but only lists them for 90-92. The length should be the same but I"m not sure about the attachments. Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questions.

That bugged me about the Smitt's I had as you can see in my pic above they don't cover both doors like your set.

A plate on each end of them uses 2 or 3 bolts to attach itself to the frame. Then the nerf bar attaches to those two plates using one bolt a piece. They are really sturdy and exactly what I was looking for considering my application.

runninclean,
How did you get those for a '95 model? I looked at other websites and they also said '90-'92. I called that link that you gave and they said that they don't make them for '93-'95.
Troudt,
How do you like the Maniks? Are they pretty sturdy? Would you by any chance have some pics of the Maniks? I saw them on a website and I think they looked pretty good as well.
Does anyone know of any other members here that are running the Maniks?
One last question, which nerf bars are better, the body mount or the frame mount?

I know this thread died a little while ago.
So Corey, are you saying that all the holes on the frames are the same for all the 2nd gens?
I just want to make sure before I order something not made for my model year.
Thanks
