I am having a problem. Last night my 90 4runner V6 stoped crancking. It cranked and iddled ruff. I had to hold the pedal down to the floor to keep it running. after a couple of minutes of this it would not crank at all. I have been smelling a faint fuel smell on it for the past couple of days. I am going to try to replace the fuel filter first and see if I can get it cranked and on a trailer. Then I plan to replace the fuel pump. when I can get it to my shop.

Am I headed in the correct location? Any other suggestions on what I may need to do?

Maybe a long shot, but check the connection to the AFM. My truck did the same thing and turns out the connector had loosened a bit after a wheelin trip..
