88 goes in for timing chain (NOW with photos!!)
Well, I have a friend that has been using a mechanic who does side work
to have her vehicle repaired. She calls me sometimes, because I don't
mind working on her truck to make a few extra bucks, but lately this guy
just can't be beat cost wise.
So a light went off in my head. *bing*
I called him up to see what he would charge to put my timing chain in my
22re because... basically, I just don't have the time or energy to attempt
this feat. $175.00 to install it if I supply the parts.
I was like... Totally surprised me. What do you guys think about
that price. I feel like I am getting a real steal here.
Oh yeah, here is the kit I bought. Any comments on that?

Here is the update on my baby. As you can see, the engine is not bright and
shiney like I had hoped. You can see the chain guide is completely DESTROYED. You can also see where the chain has almost worn a hole through
the cover!!

Yay or nay? It has to be done before I start towing this camper around.
Oh yeah, DHL sucks. Shipped on the 25th, scheduled to arrive on the 31st.
Sheesh.

Good deal. I am bringing it to this guy this evening. I won't have the parts
until tomorrow, but I figure he can get started on it whilst we wait for parts.
Going camping with the new CAMPER this weekend, and I need it to make it.
