the previous owner of my runner was a female. she had to sell it to buy a bigger suv to fit the car seats for her twins.
i dont know about it being a "chick car". but my girl LOVES driving my runner and has made me promise to never sell it. Or, give it to her if i do decide to get rid of it. i also notice that when i travel into orange county the majority of people driving 4runners are girls. when i venture into los angeles, its the opposite.

It would be interesting to see buyers figures and see what sex buys Runners. Most Mustang buyers are females but you don't hear Mustangs being called "chick" cars...well maybe the V6 versions.

id say as the 4runners progressed they became more and more like a chick car. the first gens are not chick cars, second gens maybe a little, third and fourth gens yes.

That cracks me up Dub, I drive an SR5 while my fiance drives a Jetta as well. I would have to agree with your gf that you should stick to driving your runner as opposed to her Jetta.

Here at Hampden-Sydney, 4Runners are pretty popular, and they are all driven by males, given the fact that this is an all male college, haha. Actually, one of the proffesors daughters, who is quite attractive, drives a nice 4Runner, but other than that, they are dominated by males here. From what I have seen in Richmond, it seems to be pretty evenly split between males and females. As far as I am concerned, though, 4Runners arent a chic car, and if a chic is driving one, it just makes her all the hotter, haha.
