ok, sorry if this post is somewhat redundant, but i couldn't find a whole lot to help me after searching.

to start, i currently have a revtek welfare lift with 285/75/16's. i have a set of doetsch-tech adj. coilovers on the way to me, (for only $200, retail for $660, guy from ttora took them off after 500 mi for a procomp bracket lift --- haven't found any reviews on them so i'll post my opinions after some abuse),
and now i need to finger out what to do with the rear susp. i've read steve schaefer's recomendations on his website, which was a lot of help, but am still unable to make up my mind. so i call on all of the combined expertise here.

Assuming that the valving/springrate on the Doetsch coilovers is similar to that of the saw's, what rear combo do you recomend to get the max artic out of the rear, with enough resistance to work the front, and still maintain a somewhat comfy ride on the road. on steve's page it said to use ome lc prado shocks to maximise flex, but does that mean that they aare longer and allow for the axle to articulate more, or that they are firmer and force the front to flex more before you get full travel out of the rear. it also says bilstiens will give you stock flex, so i am kind of confused there too.

note that at this point i am leaning toward downey 3" rear coils and bilstien shocks.
sorry for this long post, but i only want to do this once, and get it right the first time.

Hey Scott,

Downey/Bilstein, PP/Bil, or OME/OME are the most common setups for the rear.

I have the OME HD coils and HD shocks for my rear setup.

loosehead: thanks for that info. i have read that a while ago, but after takking to the company, they said they have worked out the bugs. i figured that it would be worth it for a couple of reasons:

1) they were only $200 and are almost brand new
2) anything will be better than these coil pacers
3) to get them revalved, or higher spring rates, i drive around the corner, doetsch is just down the street from my office.

if they suck a$$...i figured i'd just unbolt them and take them over there and get them revalved/sprung to my specs, no way i could afford $600 for the saw's right now.

from what have read, the fabtech's weren't making a lot of people happy at first, but i have heard from some shops around here that they have addressed their issues and are making a better setup now

I'm also running the OME setup in the rear. I have both HD coils and HD shocks. She seems to flex pretty good

If you want to flex the rear, I have not seen anyone rocking non-stock length Bilsteins.

OME, I have seen it work.
