Alright I'm swapping a 3VZE from a 95 PK manual to a 94 PK 3VZE automatic. Side by side I have only found there to be a couple of differences. The 95 engine has an oil cooler on it which the 94 doesn't, the 95 throttle body or linkage will need to be swapped to accomadate the automatic control cable, the water bypass block on the 94 has one more sensor than the 95 and the fuel intake line are different and will need to be changed over. The question that has me biting my nails is that while in the process of changing the fuel lines the plastic cap that is made on to the bolt for the banjo fitting, which the best I can find out in the FSM is the fuel damper, fell off and there is a small screw loose inside of it. I pulled the other fitting off the other engine and found the same thing. Is this proper, since I can find nothing in the FSM about it. If not what do I do and what is it for?? I can see a hole in what looks like a regulator of sorts but I know that this is not the fuel pressure regulator. The other question is what the extra sensor is on the water bypass? Any help would be appreciated!! Nunsa this is one for you but will except others!!LOL

Have you got a camera to take a pic?

As for the switch block, use the one from your orig engine. I am doing 2 used engine swaps now (unknown into an 89 auto, and a 94 stick into a 90 auto. NONE of the switch blocks are the same.

Thanks for the reply!! Can not get picture of the part since I haven't got my camera working but will try to find something. I had planned on swapping the by pass block and sensors. The only thing that confused me was this screw inside the pod on the bolt that connects the main fuel inlet from the fuel pump to the right (passenger side) fuel rail being out!! Never had to fool with it before so I've never noticed it but since both were loose inside the plastic cover I'm taking it as being normal but was more or less just plain curious!! Thanks again!!

I looked at the two fuel rails we are working with. One has the screw (installed) and one has a hole, no screw at all. Yes, it is the fuel damper. If it doesnt leak gas, I wouldn't worry about it. If you want it "perfect", then get another one.

We have another 2 fuel rails at the other engine swap garage too.

do not turn the screw!it will leak,then you go get a new one for $100.i know. or do what i did and take it apart remove all guts and braze it shut.works perfect,no leaks!

Thanks for the info. The screw is not even in the hole, it's laying inside the plastic cap just like I found it!!

I just had the same thing happen to me...was wondering wtf this little screw was doing laying loose in the cap I blew through it and nothing...sucked on it...nothing...then I put that screw in and it has flow through it and out of it. Did I mess it up?? Hope not...
