Question 2x4 to 4x4

Can anyone enlighten me on what goes into converting a 2x4 to a 4x4 with a 1986 Toyota Pickup

Thats what I figured, but I'm definatly not selling my truck. Probably just look for a $500 4x4 to mess around with.

I think a sex change is cheaper and easier.

just hack the front of your frame off then weld on a 4x4 front, put in a tranny and transfer out of a 4x4 and your done.$800 bucks tops.

Heck yeah, then you can beat it and not worry too much about it. Yours looks pretty slick; you wouldn't want to tear it up.

not really much more than doing a typical SAS

the only parts you'll need besides the ones for a usual SAS are a 4x4 tranny and transfer case, and you'll have to rig up a crossmember so you could always just buy one from budbuilt.

2wd frames have more arch in the front than an IFS 4x4 frame, so you can get away with less lift.
