Question 2 Questions on ISR Mod

Hi All,
I searched and read everything there is to read on the ISR mod and have these two unanswered questions....

1) Has anyone found a place/part # for the pipe? I know Dr. Z had a pipe cutom made at an exhaust shop, but is everyone doing that? I'd expect someone found something.

2) Do you have to run premium grade gas once you do the ISR mod and deck plate mod on an otherwise stock '01 4runner? Gas prices are high now and I've been driving as if I have an egg under my foot to save money. Having to move up from 87 will hurt me.

Thanks, Dreux

At first I had pinging. So I ran premium. After about 100 miles I went back to 87. No pinging since. I am still not sure why that happened.

You should be fine with 87.

You should be able to find something at a Home Depot or Lowes.

The easiest thing to do is to take off the intake in the parking lot and walk in with it for matching. Look in the plumbing section of course, but don't forget to check out electrical conduit as well - Lowes stocks some big stuff that worked out well for Dr. Z's first pass.

My first ISR Mod was using plumbing end caps and the stock pipe. I did a friend's with PVC from Lowes, then I removed my end cap solution and bought an Airaid MIT. (pricey, but slick looking)
