1997 4runner
Okay I have been searching for a few hours on the forums. I am sure my question has been asked a thousand times but at this point I am unable to find exactly where it has been asked.
Will aftermarkets parts for the '95.5 Tacoma, work with the '95-02 4runner? Or will there need to be mods for the parts.
I absolutely love my 4runner however didn't realize how much of a it would be to find aftermarket parts for it. It seems they make everything under the sun for pre '95 and post '02 4runners, and the '95.5 up Tacoma's, but nothing for the '95-02 4runner. So am I going to have to mod anything I want to buy? Or am I going to have to fab everything? Any help would be appreciated even if it is just a link to this exact question somewhere on the forums!
Thanks guys!

It really depends on what parts you are talking about.
Interior and trim pieces, they will probably work. Exterior parts, maybe.
There was a pretty significant amount of behind the scenes changes in '99.
Appearance wise you can see the latter got the fat-lip front bumper to meet crash test requirements. The hood, doors, and trim are all interchangeable.
The center console was tweaked like the cup holders moving from a pull out dash item to the floor near the shifter. The rest of the interior is interchangeable.
Wiring changed. Sort of. The plugs on the switches for the windows and locks changed shape, but the window motors and lock actuators mount the same. So you could put the complete setup from one into the other as a whole unit.
Your question is vague. With more detail we can give you a more accurate answer.
