Timing chain 22re
I have a 1991 Toyota pick up and replaced the timing chain but I don't know if the crank sprocket and the cam sprocket could have jumped one revolution apart from each other . The marks both line up but could one be one revolution off from the other. Could it happen? Thanks

If your distributor is pointing to 4 instead on 1, that could be i suppose
The Cam has 36 teeth, 10 degrees per tooth.
The Crank has 18 teeth, 20 degrees per tooth.
So, it's easy to verify the timing mark on the Cam gear should line up with the mark on the chain.
It's not so easy to verify correct install at the crank, but if the crank and the cam are one tooth off, thats 20 degrees appart, the engine would run like a suitcase full of dogs, I would think? And if they are one revolution apprt, it would run not at all I suspect?
I believe if you can verify chain correct on Cam gear, cam gear at 12.00/mark at 11.55, distributor pointing at nr 1 on the cap, #1 piston in TDC compression stroke, it should not be possible to be a tooth out, or a revolution out.
(I might be wrong offcourse..? )
