Hey Hyde!
I'm keepin the 40's just switchin to bead locks. Might save the current 18's for the dodge. Still up in the air about it.
plus my wife wants to sell her current '07 GTI and wants me to build her something similar to this.

Well im back in good 'Ol America again!
Got right to work on the 4runner and my GTO
Here are the Beadlocks I ordered while i was in Korea.
Recently moved to Missouri and had to re-jet the carb for the near 6k foot drop in elevation and it came alive! I have soo much more power down here in regular elevation.
More updates to come.

First better beadlock pics!
Then I decided to get the hellish front pinion angle fixed. So as it sits right now, the axle is completely torn down and at the machine shop for some milling , cutting and turning.
If my calculations are correct, my driveline and pinion should be inline all said and done.
Ordered cable shifters for the T-case since my hard mount shifters put them under the dash board. Hopefully next week ill get to go bash on it for the first time since 2010!

What is your Frame height to Ground ? I am going with 40"s as well and trying to figure out my lift height. looks like 12" lift should be about right.

I got an email saying something about a post to my thread so I had to come check it out.
Sorry guys, I didnt think there was much of an intrest so i quit posting.
I have been working on it. I got the front pinion up and the driveline was happy. Everything worked out great until i got on the maiden trail. First hill climb and the transmission housing cracked all the way around.
Torque Converter seperated from the pump and sent me barreling down the hill into a tree. By barreling I meant slide about 4 ft. into a tree.
So i rebuilt another transmission.
This one lasted a whole day before cracking the tail housing portion of the transmission all the way around.
So ive been out twice and have gone through 2 transmissions. I found the problem to be the t-case didnt have enought room to move around. It would hit the tunnel and twin stick housing on hard bumps. Well enough hard bumps over the day and the trans being weaker said F- this.
Since it was back in down time status I decided to put some autometer gauges in and start lowering it.
Had to replace an engine on a co-workers car so It hasnt been in the garage until yesterday. Plan on tearing back into it this weekend.
Did find out I have about 6" of up travel and could go more with different shock hoops and notched frame pockets.

To the frame was about 34" right behind the crossmember bolts. Now its about 29.5". Im also running a 3" BL so you have to account for that when comparing.
