Thanks! My main objective is to get it looking good and the suspension and running works all in order. Its going to be a work/trail truck around the house that will get me where I need to go and hopefully keep some miles off my runner.

Right now I'm planning on sticking with IFS similar to my last truck. I want to lock the rear and go with 33s. With bj spacers right now and possibly a 1-2in body lift later on down the road if Im not satisfied.

Any updates?? This is a good build. I like how you are keeping it simple but capable.

No big updates. I did buy a aluminum low profile toolbox for it this week off craigslist. Got it for 60 bucks. Can't wait to get it home and on the truck.

I haven't been home in almost 2 months now since school started back. And its getting warm enough for me to start back working on the weekends at the golf course. Its about time for me to give it a bit more attention though.

I'm going to go with an aussie locker. I was leaning towards a limited slip for the on-road manners but I have yet to hear anything bad about the aussies so I changed my mind. Plus they are cheaper and better than the detroit truetrac off-road wise.

I took it to the car wash and sprayed everything down with the green tire cleaner and let it sit while I was coating everything else. Then I just power washed it out till I couldn't get it any cleaner.

Good spot lol! How could you tell the model you cant really see it in the pics?

Its a 55 first series. It used to be my grandfathers then my dad did a off frame resto when I was younger. This is a picture of me driving it to prom about 4 years ago.

This is the other on its a 1940 Buick special 2 door sedan. Dad and I worked together on this one, another frame off restoration. This was about a year ago when my dad took my sister and her friends to prom in it. Dad actually sold this last week to look for another project.

Good lookin truck and car. I could tell by the bumper and the bed rails, plus I'm chevy guy, although I love my yota. Oh and, I have a 51 chevy that my dad and I did a frame-off resto on.

Dang thats a good looking truck also. Its always nice to see restored trucks at cruise-ins and car shows. It seems like everyone has a camaro or chevelle or some other type of car. What engine is in the 51?

Thanks man. Around here we seem to have a good mix, but there are quite a few chevelles and camaros. It's got a 305, but I have a 327 that I wanna build up and put in it.

I never did get the toolbox in. The guy who had it did a lot of painting jobs and he got paint splatters all over it so I have been working on stripping off some of the splatters. I did get some new rear speakers in this weekend though. The po had put infinity reference 6 1/2s in it but one was blown so I replaced them with some stock replacements.

If I can get the paint off Im going to give it a good polish. If not Im going to tape it up and its going to get a coat of black paint. Ill post up some pictures this weekend. I had to come back to school early and didn't get to work on it too much.

I will see if i can get up some pictures of my cb installed too.

I went with a export radio also. Its the same frame as a connex 3300 but with a few different options and a front microphone plug. I am using it with a wilson 1000 mag mount right now but it picks up the same as the wilson 2000 i had on my previous truck with the same radio.

I did the same thing on this truck also. Doesn't the superstar 121 have the side mic jack? How did you fix that?
