No, wheel spacers are fine, i have no problem with mine. You need some pics, 4Wheel parts sells a shackle kit that gives 1.5in lift for 50 bucks. I had them on my 80 and they worked great.

For the shackles I am going to be using Marlin Crawler. I am getting front 3rd with 5.29's open, a rear 3rd with 5.29's and detroit and the shackles (1'' over in front and 2.5'' over in rear) for $1666 shipped to my door.
Then I am getting TG complete hy-steer, ifs box and mount for $637 shipped to my door. Ordering those hopefully this week.
As for pics there are only 2 of my rig since I forgot my camera, give me a minute to find them and I will post them up. I want to run Hidden Valley Road to get some good flexing pics.

We were kinda slow tonight towards the end of work so I decided to see how far my truck would flex and where I was rubbing when I was flexed. I put the right front wheel on the lift and started to raise it, waiting for the right rear tire to lift and to see where I was rubbing. Topped out the lift completely and it never lifted the tire. It was a good 2.5-3 feet off the ground. Figured I would try the rears as well, same thing.
I am now a lot more impressed with the lift that I got on the truck...only problem is that I was so impressed I forgot to look and see where I was rubbing. I didn't turn the wheels to see. Oh well, I am going to bring my camera to work with me on Monday and hopefully get some pictures of the flex.

Didn't have anything going on today and did some stuff to waste time, went looking for camping gear, then decided to go take some poser shots of my truck with the lift on.
This is just outside my work:
Then I tried to get this shot of this really cool shot of the sunset, only succeeded in getting a miserable shot of this girl in the car next to me. She was cute, then I saw the cigarette...YUCK!!

Here are some flex shots I took at work.
.
I am going to get my 3rds and then order a set of 4'' lift springs for the rear. Also, on the list are relocation plates for the front.

My steering is doing the same thing, or it was until I got some spacers. Let me know if you want some help with your tubbing of the firewall. Never hurts to have a second set of hands. I need to tub mine as well.
I was thinking, I have next Thursday and Friday off if maybe you wanted to run a trail, either of those days...possibly a trail each day. I got no problem driving down to the springs if I have a place to crash so that it isn't all in one day.

Almost a full year since the last update...
Done a little bit of work, remounted the CB under the steering column, mounted a tach on top of the steering column, took the rear bumper off, mounted the CB antenna behind the driver's door...
up
and almost over...
That's all I got for now, running China Wall tomorrow, so I should have some more pics to post. Truck is black now.

Ok, so I have a remanufactured short block and an engnbldr.com StreetRV with the 261C camshaft to put on top of it. I am picking up a water pump, NGK spark plugs, 180 degree thermostat, distributor cap and rotor, and an oil filter. I plan on starting the tear down of the old engine in the next few weeks.
Do you think I should get new rocker arms? They are kinda pricey, starting as low as 13.99/per and up to 26.99/per. They are cast steel, just like the stockers, but everywhere I have read and anyone I have talked to (with the exception of a Toyota guy I work with) says they should be replaced.
I will get pictures of everything when I get the short block on an engine stand.

Ok, the engine is in and running VERY strong. I have gears and detroit front / spool rear waiting to go in. I have sliders waiting to get welded on.
I installed 4" lift springs to help even out the rear, but I need to fix the shackle angle.

Not yet, I will try and get some soon.
Getting my sliders installed on the 12th by ScottyC @ Addicted After that it's gears and lockers, and then some interior stuff...
Tomorrow is a stereo (thank God, the silence is killing me).

Sliders are nice, I use mine all the time! Still rocking the fenderless fronts? I still need to trim my junk also
Make sure you plan some time off near the 1st part of Aug. for the Colorado 4Runner Jamboree
