pulled the valve cover to unveil the mysterious timing chain... single row plastic guides /;
in decent shape though. head looks good. cleaned the crud out of the valve cover and did the gasket. brake job went about halway good haha. need a booster and master cylinder (landcruiser??) heres the goods. oh and i dropped my seat off at the upholstery shop. i pick it up in two weeks. cant wait

Popped the hood and used my search function. Found this screw that controls my idle and thus, I have fixed my idle. Pretty simple stuff. Now I'm just researching why my engine idles quieter with the reed valve disconnected. Guess I'm going back with that search function... Haha

Hey How much did it cost you to get the seat fixed? It looks good. Mine's got some tears on the driver's side and it's not too comfortable.

Nope. I liked the KYB gas-a-just in my van so I got the front and backs. They looked old as hell when I opened the box. I'll put them on when I get the truck back from my buddy.

There was no butt support at all. So he rebuilt the rails and stuffs under the foam, beefed up the cushioning and sewed it back up. Other shops quoted me $650

My brakes are doing some crazy stuff. When I press them in the idle surges about 500 rpms... Checked some vacuum lines and replaced a few ditzy clamps with real clamps and noticed a difference in the brakes.. Next up is replacing the booster, vacuum advance stuff and brake master cylinder. If that doesn't fix it then I'll be confused. Not.... That I already.... Am?

So, while I'm waiting for payday...

If you should ever buy a coverlay dash cover, they give you this glue to use. I think glue is for kindergartners and the like so I went with good velcro from the ol home depot. This is because if I need to remove my dash assembly the glue would make the situation..... STICKY. The ends fit like a glove. No need to secure them as they don't rattle. The only part you really have to meddle with is the center. I put both parts of the Velcro down where I thought they were needed, leaving the adhesive open to interpretation. This helped because I didn't have to line up the Velcro. I used a pair of my girlfriends shoes to wedge the cover down until the Velcro had done it's thing. I'm keeping the glue for arts and crafts.

That dash overlay made a big difference. Looks 10 times better. I have found perfect dash pads and a short time later they crack and about to give up on factory pads. Glad you posted that.

There is a white valve on the firewall, is fuctioning for your brakes? Booster would be my suspected problem or a vac leak somewhere.

They come with a lifetime warranty against sun damage and cracking. Mine was about $115 though.

Hey man nice looking truck.Looks like she needs a little rust repair on bed but all in all a good find.If you're looking for a brake booster i have both a stock single diaphragm and dual diaphragm to upgrade to v-6 front brakes.Pm me if interested.How does the frame look on the truck?Thats usually the first thing to rot out where i live and its hard to find one that hasn't been hacked by someone.I plan on putting a weber 32/36 on my 87 as well,i have the parts just been so cold and we have gotten 4 feet of snow in the past week or so and its gonna snow from today till tuesday.Gotta love it! I got under it before I bought it and looked the whole frame over. It's solid. The bed is in bad shape but it works for now. I will probably shell out the cash for a replacement before trying to repair this one. I can stand in the bed without it giving though. So it's got some work left in it. I think I'm gonna go with a new brake booster and iacv. I like peace of mind. And thanks. Good luck with yours as well!

Oh and by the way that dash overlay looks awesome! I need to do something with my dash too.Is this a hard plastic or does it have some flex to it?How well do the vents fit back in there openings?Looks great from what i can see!
