1979toyotakmf's 1979 Pickup Build-Up Thread
Well I gonna start by saying HELLO! I'm currently 23 and I live in North Carolina..I'm unemployed(NO MONEY.So thats why its gonna be kinda slow build..I bought the 1979 Toyota Long bed for only $125.00 HECK YEA! I do have a BEUTIFUL Wife and 2 Girls.. sooo again money is limited .. I've had the truck for a few months now havent done much to it just been looking for deals and had to get my 84yota running good... I'm gonna post the pics and try to list my parts collected and future plans...
These are things I've gotten off ebay or craigslist.
..NIB Crane Cams camshaft..part number 704-0100 dur502-302..lift 472-472 ($40)
..Used Offenhauser dual port intake 20R ($100)
..Used Holley 500cfm 2bbl (free with truck)
..Used allpro Uboltflip F/R ($80)
..Used MSD igntion box ($175)
..NIB polyurethane body bushing kit (20)
..NIB polyurethane spring bushing kit F/R (50)
..Used 3'' lift springs F/R ($100)
..NIB offroad LED light kit ($10)
..(5)almost NEW 35x14.5X15 SSR's ($350!!!)

3.1987 IFS rear axle
4.Custom crossmember (tcase)
5.Armour/Brace F/R axles
6.Crossover steering
7.Bedliner Bed/Cab (inside)
8. 5.29 gearing
9.89+ driveshaft upgrade
10.IFS knuckle swap?
11.Custom made bumpers/sliders
12.Bobb the bed VERY SHORT
13.Pray like HECK it works!

Does anybody use the Holley carb??? I know a weber is most likely better (I have one on my DD 1984yota) but hey I like being a little different (I'm also young and DUMB)
