I guess I could get used to the boxy look and it sounds like it may be a Jeep Rubicon type off roader but the PRICE 40k that's a bit much to swallow for a 4runner

I'll keep my 1st gen, but I bet I can talk the wife into trading in her Honda Pilot for one of those in a couple years when she'll "need" a new car. I like the looks way better then the 4th gen, but I would really like to see a Manual transmission 4x4 with the diesel 4 cylinder from the hilux!!

I want a manual too! come on Toyota! you offer one in other markets why not here?...
It looks good though I love that front end... be nice if they could put it on the tacoma/tundra... cup holders still look like they were an after thought... and can I get one without airbags? I don't like being surrounded by explosive devices...
and "party mode"? hmmm back seat at the drive-in anyone?

Hey, maybe Toyota is trying to get back to its roots if the cupholders are an afterthought.
I am assuming the rear window still rolls down? Thats gotta be one of my favorite things they have kept through the generations. Keeps the dogs happy!

Guess I'll just have to remove those pesky airbags myself lol... and rebuild the interior... maybe if I just disconnect them and remove the crash sensor...

I dunno, all the SUV's and Cars to me are all starting to look like they were designed by the same person..from Pilots to Expeditions to this new 4Runner, none of them are unique in my opinion....
Personally I would rather sink $30K into a used 3rd Gen 4Runner and have something that would actually make it over a speed bump or grocery cart at the Mall

Nope, the FJ Cruiser is.
You can buy it almost barebones and just add on a few things yourself such as the A Trac switch, as long as you got the rear locker option.
And since it does not have a plush interior and carpet, that keeps the costs down too.
