1988 Red 4WD Toyota Celica ST165 Alltrac, 139k, Boston.
I hate to sell this car, its been the most fun ride I have ever owned, honestly. I bought this thing last summer from a Toyota master tech in Oregon. It doesnt have the rust issues like most northeast cars and its been well taken care of. It does have some issues and I will try to describe it to the best of my knowledge below.
Replaced at about 120k, summer 06, it currently has 139k.
EVERY part was brand new original toyota.
Rings
Rod and main bearings
Full head gasket set
Cleaned and lapped valves (valve job)
Water pump
Timing belt and other belts
Alternator
Starter
Spark plugs
Spark plug wires
Most of the hoses
Clutch
Mobil 1 Synthetic oil every 3k. (Just changed 1/15/07, 138,758 miles)
Replaced in January 07
Front brake pads and rotors.
Battery
New blizzak snow tires, not mounted yet.
The motor, turbo and transmission run great, doesnt burn any oil either and I have never had any problems.
Just recently it developed a power steering leak and I did track down the problem to the power steering hose, but one morning most of the ps fluid leaked out and the pump ran without any and gave out. I do have the replacement pump and hose to go with it, I just have not replaced it yet.
The check engine light came on a couple of months ago, I have not diagnosed it yet but its probably the o2 sensor. It could also use new rear pads. Also has a small leak in the exhaust pipe, it actually sounds nice, not ricey, so I havent bothered fixing it.
I will put up pics in a couple of days.
