1988 4Runner SR5 V6 - Austin, TX (very well kept) **Sold**
I've owned this car since 1998 and taken really good care of it, put well over $15,000 into it and replaced a lot of parts. It's time to get a newer car so my 1988 Toyota is for sale.
I'm asking $4000. I'm in Austin, Texas.
I installed a rebuilt ATK engine at 100,000 miles. I've also replaced many of the major components, see below. Also see the full list of repair work on the website. The full list of repairs can be fond on the website I made for it here http://4runnersforsale.com. I have't modified it or added any lift.
It's been really fun owning this vehicle over the years. It's taken me up some rough jeep trails though the hill country, out to the lake for camping, towed a few trailers and even my daily commute.
I haven't seen to many like this one, in great condition and fully loaded with features. It's power windows and locks still work well great. It's a 3.0 V6 engine. It has auto locking hubs.
Specs:
• Make: Toyota
• Model: 4Runner
• Year: 1988
• Engine: 3.0L V6
• Miles: 206,000
• Transmission: 5 speed manual
Features
• Power locks
• Power windows
• Automatic locking hubs
• Removable top
• Built in rear rollbar
• Good CD player
• Air conditioning
• Cruise control
• Power steering
• Sun roof
• Convertible
Repair History
Major parts that have been replaced in the past few years:
⁃ Timing belt kit 2011
⁃ Harmonic balancer 2011
⁃ All automatic window switches 2011
⁃ Water pump - 2011
⁃ Clutch master cylinder - 2010
⁃ Clutch slave cylinder - 2009
⁃ Battery - 2008
⁃ Alternator - 2007
⁃ Radiator - 2007
⁃ Starter - 2007
⁃ Timing belt - 2006
⁃ Distributer cap, roter, wires, plugs - 2006
⁃ Power steering pump - 2005
⁃ Rebuilt ATK engine - 1999
Problem Areas
⁃ Transmission/Clutch - Sometimes it doesn't like going into first gear. It takes a little getting use to but very drivable. Some people think it's the bushing but I'm not sure.
⁃ Passenger seat recline lever - The cable broke. You must push a button under the seat to get it to slide and recline.
⁃ A/C doesn't get cold anymore.
⁃ Fuel gage not working but low gas light does.
⁃ Minor crack on dashboard.
⁃ Minor rust on the body by the wheels.
⁃ Bent rear bumper
⁃ Antenna missing
