What PSI in you running in your tires??

I got a 3rd gen with 16x8 rims, rolling on BFG 265/70/R16 T/A KOs. I know the stock pressures was 32/32. But BFG told me to run it at 45/42. This is such a weird setting for them to recomend. So Im just wondering what everyone else is running for street driving.

Also on this note, Im beginning to hate my BFG T/A kos. All kinds of small rocks get stuck in the thread channels. And make a irking clicking sound when driving. So I gotta pull over and dig out the rocks.

I have Nitto terra grapplers - load range D. I run 45/40. The treadwear is nice and even.

Talking Goodyear 285/75/16s MT/Rs

I run around 35-36 psi in mine and smooth as glass on the highway and my tires still look brand new after 10K miles other than a few scrapes and scruffs from SE4RJ!

That is too high! I couldn't imagine putting that much into the 4Runner stock tires! I don't know if your require anymore, but that's HIGH.

you don't put that much in the "stock" tires. stock tires are typically passenger tires, hence the "P" in P265/70R16. light truck tires start with LT, and come in LT265/75-16 for 265 series sizes. light truck tires come in load ranges depending on the stiffness of the sidewalls. for most LT tires, the max tire pressure is 60psi. you run what you need depending on the weight of the truck. anything in the 40-45 range is nothing for a load range C or D tire. regular passenger tires should be no more than 35psi. check to make sure which ones you have.

I agree with you about the BFG AT's. I have a set of 32x11.50R15's and they hold on to rocks longer than any other tire I have ever had. Even after driving for an hour plus at highway speeds there will still be rocks stuck in the tread after I get home. I run 29 psi front and 32 rear on my 96 4Runner.

Running 32 up front with the 325/50R22's, and about 26 in the rear...easiest way to monitor it is just to watch tread wear and adjust accordingly.

Billy

Remember that mine are a 10 ply tire though

35 all around. used to run 45-50, just too stiff over bumps though, and not necessary.

I set mine to 19½±½ psi for the street but then they're bias ply with seriously thick sidewalls.

Im gonna drop it down to 35 all around. Hopefully my ride somths out a little. Can everyone agree that lke the best setting in the middle of everyones PSI rates?

Lately with Hawaii's road conditons are so bad, my tires pick uo more rocks than I can image. Its not like I drive behind rock quarry trucks all day. Damn you roads in hawaii. Damn you

I think 35 is a happy medium...at 35 all the small bumps that I feel in other cars with little street tires inflated to the point of popping disappear...I love it!

I droped my pressure down to 35 all around. And feel a little differnce. The road seems less bumpy. I must have hit 20 pot holes comming home from work. But....you must be thinking, why dont you avoid the pot holes. The reason is you swerve to avoid one, you hit the other. And the other is always deeper and bigger than the one you just swerved pass. And this is on our main highway.

This years Mayoral elections #1 topic of debate is fixing roads here in Hawaii. That is being placed over education. And I agree, to dissagree on that
