Pro Comp X-Terrain or Swamper TrXus?
Im sorta of stuck between these 2 tires. Perhaps I can get some opinions/reviews from you guys? Lookin at a set of 33x12.50's for my 99 4x4 Tacoma - I do a bit of everything as far as offroading, the pismo dunes, some dirt/gravel/rocks in the Pozo area, etc - and a lot of daily driving. I do not care so much about noise, I already know the amount of noise coming from a 33 isnt going to be enough to bother me. I guess I just want to know the average life span and offroading capabilities. ALso, which tire do you think looks best?

X-terrain.
I think they look a lot better!
I was wanting to get a set of those a while back, but decided not to because I realy dont do a lot of off roading . 80% of my driving is on road so I went with an A/T tire.

i found a site somewhere, i forget now. but i know the procomp mts measured 32.4 inches. other mud tires, such as the bfg and trxus mt measured 32.8 and 33.0 respectively. i know those are for mud terrains, but im willing to bet it runs through the whole pro comp line.

I'm looking at the procomp Xterrain in my summit racing catalog, and it says the 33x12.50 is actually 31.4x10.9 looked in my older one from last month and it says the same thing... could it be a typo? seems tooo small for a 33" tire

hadn't thought of that, it'd be interesting if we could get a few members with these to measure the height of their tire.

Those particular TrXus look dumb. IMO!

xterrains are very popular on rock rigs now. however, i'd consider them more of an A/T since they aren't that great in the mud.
a lot of comp rigs run krawlers, but you're also going to see a lot running SXs due to their beefy sidwalls

I have the Xterrains, they do great onroad/in the rain and offroad ofcourse. Not too bad in the mud. They look nice too. I was really surprised how quiet they were for such an aggressive looking tire. Go with the Xterrains!

Procomps
The STS look like a show tires (just for the cool factor). I'm sure both would do reasonably well off-road, but the procomps will be much better on road, especially in the rain. Neither will give you much lateral traction, but the procomps will be better all around. I've wheels with a guy who wheels his 33" Xterrains pretty hard and he really likes them.
