Lets talk Tires for 92-95 P/U - BFGoodrich A/T

I'll be truck shopping in about a month for an ext'd cab 4x4 V6 or 22RE 92-95 5 spd P/U (would prefer the 22RE but as Ive mentioned before I'll probably end up with a V6 based on the numbers of them out there).

Anyways - unless the truck miraculously comes with the tires I want, which are the BFGoodriich A/T KO's, I will be buying a set of them most likely shortly after purchase. A little research on the net indicates that the rims for this truck are 15". First off, is this right? This one site says that stock tires for these years of truck are 31 x10.5-15 OR 225/75-15. 225/75's are 28.3" (is it really 28.3" stock tires for this truck? Why would there then be 31" tires mentioned as well? Could it be one for the 4 banger and the taller ones for the V6?).

Secondly, I want a set of these tires that are relatively tall (but still around 30-31") but narrow. Could anyone recommend a tire size? I want the narrowness for ease of turning, as well as handling in snowy conditions, as well as I understand narrower tires seem to or tend to be on the cheaper side.

Will C load class tires be sufficient as I understand they will be?

Here is the sizing guide for these tires from the BF Goodrich site...

Thanks for any clarification and recommendations

There were a couple of options available. Some came with the smaller tires, and some came with 31"s. The suspension is all the same, but the trucks that came with 31"s should have lower ring & pinion gears.

With 15" rims and no lift you're pretty much limited to 31x10.5 or 32x11.50. You could probably squeeze 33x10.50 in there with a little trimming.

I had 31x10.50 on my Toyota years ago (before there were changed a bit and given the K/O designation). They were good tires and worked well during long, snowy Montana winters.

I have 32x11.50 on my Jeep right now. They probably have about 30,000 miles on them and still have a lot of tread left; probably about 1/2.
