So my idea of a good time has changed somewhat from last year when i bought my 33x10.5x15 km2s. I have decided to lower my truck down just a bit to make it easier for my girls to get in and out, and tend to spend more time on the road than on the trial. I have found a guy with 32x11.5x15 bfg AT wanting to trade even. So what would you do, ride the km2s, or go with the AT. Both mine and his set of tires have about 80% tread left. I do plan on hitting some trails, but i have had my fun with the mud , so thats out of the question. Snow is not a big factor in my area, if that matters

ive never liked the a/t's and when it rained they where pretty scary

dont do it. you could lower it down to stock an dclear the 33x10.50s on factory wheels. minor pinchweld trimmin if on aftermarket wheels. or, tell the girls to jump lol

the AT's are slippery in the rain. I have 33x10.50 KM2s as well. I love the tire, plus going from a 33 to a 32 isn't gonna change much.

Thanks guys, I haven't trade yet, just been waiting to see what you guys think. I must say i've them bout a year, and not much wear, still have over 80% left. Just rebuilt the knuckles and put ifs hubs, so should have more clearence up front now.

what are you people talking about 'sucked in the rain'???

Apparently you all need to learn to DRIVE in the rain. It rains 90% of the time where i live and they are a fantastic tire, i have never had an issue with them in the rain during normal driving or having to maneuver out of possibly dangerous situations.

The only time i have ever had an issue with the rain is when it has been sunny for extended periods of time followed by a downpour, at that time the oil on the street raises to the surface and everything is slippery until the oil is rinsed away from the rain to the side of the streets...

If you dont drive like an idiot in the rain you will be fine.

I work with a guy who just put bfg a/t on his truck, i asked him bout the rain. He said he has no problems. Maybe the guys having problems are running wide tires, which would make it hydroplane, i think. Is hydroplaning the problem? Just looking at the tire it seems like they would do good in the rain. But i know nothing. I here of people getting 70 to 80k out of the A/T. However not sure what kind of mileage i can get out of the km2s, i've read some reviews at tirereack.com about some guys getting 50 to 60 k from the km2s. Sound feasible?

I have about... 50K on my tires, maybe almost 55K and so far they are about half warn down. Fantastic treadlife. i had some of the rubber mold nubs on them up until about 40K

I will admit, the ones I had were the old style so these newer ones may be better but even still, I have heard similar complaints about the newest version of them.

mine slip in the rain on my taco but then again, I have a lot of extra power; they do seem slippery for this reason alone but I have no complaints on the A/T's as far as handling, they are the perfect interface between On/Offroad driving IMAO

I have close to 50k on mine and they still have an amazing 1/2" of tread left!!! I don't drive like grandma either!!!

If anyone wants to buy them, cool, I CANNOT wear them out! I want to get new A/T's to fit my new larger wheels because of a brake upgrade but they won't die!

I drove around my dads 03 tundra with 31" bfg At's for 5 years. The tires have been on the truck for 6 years. Have about 60k on them. They have performed great for what we did with them, DD, Snow and fire service roads. Just my .02 cents, iv never had km2 but i know those are nice as well.

Also i believe our AT has about 1 more year out of them maybe 2...

One of the main reasons i was looking to get the ATs was the mileage people are getting out of them. I don't have many miles on my km2s, so you guys with the km2s, what kind of mileage do you think you're going to get?

So I decided to trade, going to get them tomorrow. My km2s are LOLD due to my knuckle bearings being shot, takes the fun out of driving the truck. LOL. I called today to price one 32x11.5 for a spare, and they are on back order. Called BFG today they don't have them in stock, and are not making any for at least the next 4-5 weeks. So I think I will pass on trading. I done some searching, seems like the 32x11.5 are not a big seller for BFG and may be on the way out. So with all that said, you guys heard of Wild Country XTX? I can get a set of 31x10.5 out the door for 479. I have the guy pricing some 32x11.5. I have a guy wanting to buy my KM2 for 550, is that too low? WOW I’m just full of questions today.

You guys might be comparing apples to oranges if your talking different sizes. My BFG T/A KOs are great in the rain because I have a 5500lbs Landcruiser on 31x10.5s. My 4Runner on the same size tires was a little more slippery. I actually quite like BFG T/A KOs in the rain, they are the best A/T tire I've tried yet.

both are good tires. just depends on your application.

I'm not a big fan of A/t's ever since I was helping a friend get rid of some wood scrap in his back yard. His f150 had a set of BFG A/T's when trying to leave his truck actualy got stuck in the wet grass and I had to pull him forward on to the gravel with my toy. What struck me is the did'nt even break the surface just set there and spun on top of the grass.

Hated the BFG ATs too in the rain. Compared to the Michelin LTX the LTX did much better in the rain not breaking loose when trying to beat traffic while turning at a green light. I will recommend General Grabber AT2s as they have similar tread designs to the BFG ATs but the General has plenty of sipings in the treads so IMHO they hold much better in the wet rain.
