the BFG does have 1 more sidewall ply than the nitto
Performance wise, my nittos did awesome when I was at shoe creek last weekend. I was quite suprised how well they did.
the BFG costs $$$...if I had the cash, I would of gone with them. But the Nittos IMO do just as well. Sorry for the incoherence.

Yeah, the bfg's are like 200 bucks more. but they look cool. Besides, can't I just charge it and let my life insurance or bankruptcy pay for it later. JK

hmm..something good in snow and decent in mud?
Proabably going to have to go with an MT
BFG MT is a great tire.
Realize that when you do get an MT, you wont get the miles as if you went with an AT

Sorry for the hi-jack, but I'm in AZ and since it's so friggin hot here any softer tires just don't last. My "rugged trails" have about 12'000 miles on them and look like I attacked them with a cheese grater.

well back on the orginal topic...I tend to stray away from them..LOL
I would go with the Yoko AT.
I think they would act similiar in the same conditions, as would the nitto and any other AT tire.

and yes i had the correct tire size, i was checking the 245/75/16 the MUD was 151.99 and the at was 162.99. and still is, but now the mud is like 190 so i dropped the ball on that one.

I have new Cooper ST's on my 84 and so far they have not slipped or had any problems. I'm very happy with them, I only have about 30 hours of wheeling on them. Lots of forest and logging roads.
I have not ran on the other tires talked about, but I'm completely happy with the S/Ts.

I am a fan of Cooper as far as cost vs performance. I have BFGs on my truck right now (used to have S/Ts on my other truck) and I definately like the S/Ts more for off roading. My next tires will almost for sure be Cooper.
