Since my post has been linked, I'll throw up some pics of the TXR II's.

Ya, those are nice. How much was each tire? The best deal I found on BFG A/Ts is $130/tire plus $130 shipping....I'm starting to like the idea of the Uniroyal Liberators haha. How aggressive is that tread?

I really the toyo all terrains. They are pretty similar to the nittos. I do light trails and such and they work really well never had a problem.

i have these tires. they suck in mud if you do any of that (all i have to work with around here ) in sand they have done very well
they seemed to wear to fast in the middle for soom reason. i think maybe to much air in them but played with different levels really hasn't changed much

just my 2 cents

the big o big foot x/t is an outstanding tire. its more agressive than an a/t, but not as aggressive as an m/t, meaning it performs much better than an a/t in the mud and performs better offroad.

I've never had good luck with the longevity or durability of Big O Tires, though. I ran a few sets on some of my trucks in the past, and I never was really pleased with them. I was definitely NOT pleased with Dayton Timberlines. Those tires are terrible in every definition. Maybe it's because of the terrain I wheel in, I am a huge advocate of BFG TA's. They wear like iron, they have a 3 ply sidewall (muy importanto out here with all the pointy plants and such), and they have a good combination of on road manners and off road capability.

I'm done with the commercial, now, but dangit, I like these tires!

Went to the web site, would be nice if you could get them on the east coast.

Might be able to order them through NTB - same parent company.

(I know this because I have the reverse problem - bought my tires at NTB with road hazard, and none out here, but it is done through BigO)

Mud Terrain SXTs. So far so good. Nice and soft, but not too aggressive. Do very well in the wet, no hydroplainging yet. Even after trying a few times.

My rig is a DD so I don't want to ride on muds or swampers all day. I want something decent though for an A/T. What is an aggressive A/T that I can buy? I currently have some worn BFG A/T's and I like that tread, but what are some others I can look at?

oh and i daily drive mine about 60 miles round trip to work and back.

Thanks

i actually have been running BFG mud terrains for years now. the last set lasted me over 2 years! and thats doing quite a bit of driving! with bad alignment and they were cupped because i had worn ball joints and a bad idler arm. and they STILL lasted that long! and they still had some life left but some jackass stabbed my sidewall so i just bought 4 new ones. i'd go with the mud terrains personally they look and perform great!!! i thought they would wear fast too but tires every 2 years or so isnt too bad.

Those TXR's look just like the "Mesa CT" they sell at NTB. IIRC, it's available in a 33x10.50 too ...

I think the only great A/T out there is the BFG. If you are looking to be aggressive, step to the BFG M/T. There is a reason almost every comp. truck runs BFG. They are awesome tires.

On the same token, I have run both BFG A/T(got 55k on em) and BFG M/T(got 42k out of them). I have also run Goodyear M/T's and got 35k out of them, awesome tire right there but very soft and get chewed up pretty easily). I was also pretty happy with my ProComp M/T's (they looked to be about half tread when I sold them at 40k miles)

Just my opinions herein of course.

Haven't had much luck with the dueler a/t's... wore really badly and I am a stickler for rotate and balance... On the other hand, I bought my current p/u with dayton timberline a/t's. They aren't very aggressive, but they have held there own, no road noise, and I'm getting great mileage out of them. Of course, I fully intend to go with bfg a/t's next time around... I'm predictable. I'd like to know what the percentage of p/u's and runners with bfg a/t's on black steelies is.

Damn guys, I think I'ma have to look closer for a deal on BFGs. I called Big O and they quoted me $180/XT tire..."just under $800 for the 31x10.50s" Uh.. that's too much. Everything about the BFGs is true though.. shoot, I bought the wheels off my sis, who bought them off a friend, who bought them new about 10 yrs ago! And I still drive on them! not wheel, but DD. Only thing is I want a lil bigger size, 33x10.5's are nice, but will they fit a stock Runner... 32x11s?

I got my 31x10.50 BFG A/Ts mounted/balanced with lifetime rotation/balancing for 600 at tire kingdom.
