1st gen wheels on 2nd gen 4-runner

Hello,

I am wanting to put first generation wheels on my '94 4-runner. Like these:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f180...-stuff-145044/

Since first gen have locking hubs, what do you do for center caps on the front?

My wheels have center caps, but not sure if they will fit the earlier wheels right...

Thanks!

Ben

well, after doing some research, it looks like the center caps are fairly available on the internets. used ones anyways. but they all look narrow.

are these things still available new?

i noticed on my wheels, the front centercaps are deeper, for the 4wd i guess. are there a deep version for all the wheel types?

anyone have any leads on where i could buy them?

this is my truck.

'94 SR5, 4wd, 5 speed, 170k miles. owned it since 1996. best vehicle i have ever owned.

btw, these centercaps are not compatible with the wheels that i want. i just checked some on a truck down the street with those wheels.

Are you sure it's not the hub assembly that you're looking at? I can't tell if there is a center cap on your fronts. Kinda looks like the hub to me though, with the auto hub. Can you get a close up of the middle of the front wheel?

I don't run center caps on my front.

this is my current front center cap. sorry it is sideways. it is about 3 inches tall. the rears are 2 inches deep at most.

this is a pic of the center cap for the wheels that i want to get. this is a front from a 2wd. my question is, is this type of center cap available in a deep version for front 4wd hubs?

It looks to me like the 2nd gens that had those wheels had the same center caps front and rear--not very deep ones:

But did that 2nd gen have hubs(auto) or ADD? And what does OP have?

I'm not saying it won't work, but just want to make sure we are talking apples to apples here...

It looks great--just like the brochures. Those graphics under the back side windows take me back to when I was 13 and was drooling all over the '93s at the dealership lot...

Its looking like its about ZUK thirty there, napier. Get rid of that saggy rear end. Wheels look good though.

...it's not saggy. That's just the 1st and 2nd gen 4runner design with the high-arched front fenders.

Lol what?? They all look like that, yes, but that is definitely sag. Why would they have designed pickups to not do that but make 4Runners drag the rear... the heavier rear end causes the sag.

OP those wheels look great, I love mine and it came stock with them! As for the rear, some coil spacers or better yet new springs will make that baby sit sooo much better. I cannot recommend Old Man Emu suspension enough.

the truck is actually loaded down with camping gear in that pic. however, it definitely has some natural sag as seen in the first pic. just like beautiful natural breasts... mmmmmm....
