ford V8 Conversion? 86' 4Runner

anyone know if a company makes a conversion kit to mate a 302 ford with the toyota 5sp, motor mounts? My 2.4 just crapped out & with prices of a rebuilt 22re its almost easier to swap in a 302. Or a different toyota engine? thanks for any info.

well a 22r rebuild kit, not including getting the engine cleaned up and bored, ect... is like 300 bucks, where as the Advanced Adapter plate that you need to mate it is about that much, you can look anyways..try advancedadapters.com im pretty sure they sell whole V8 swap kits..the only other engine swap that would be better and cost about the same maybe a little more would be a supra engine swap 5mge being the easiest, check out the engine swap forums on here , tons of info

This is the right section for this question and will hopefully yield a better response.

Also try searching and see if this has been discussed before.

Ok for starters if you can do the work yourself it will save a bunch of money. I think I got my kit from Advance adapters but might have been downey dont remember now. I bought the bellhousing kit and the motor mounts. Buy a good pressure plate from centerforce. I did mine for a bout 1500 bucks without the price of the motor. But I did all the work myself. If you need advice or guidance pm me and I will help you all I can. I have a fuel injected 302 from a 94 ford in my Yota. Good luck and dont get discouraged. Travis

It meant me spending three days in my living room with the wiring harness.( You need a really good schematic) I wired mine up as basically 2 seperate systems so if I have a problem it is easily traced. After 5 years the only problem I have had is with the starter. If I can help at all let me know. Travis
