anyone ever done a 1uzfe or 2uzfe swap in a first gen?
I've been looking into getting a 1st gen, but i want more power than the 20r or 22r that comes in the truck. Any and all info would be appreciated. I've looked on google and have'nt found anything about any kind of swap. Thanx in advance.

Since you asked specifically about swapping the UZ series of motors, you will most likely find more info here:
That said, a lot of people have swapped a 3.4 into 1st and 2nd Gen Pickups/ 4Runners. If you find a truck with a 3.0, the tranny and motor mounts are a perfect match. Check out the 3.4 swap section here on YT. http://www.yotatech.com/f160/ If you get one with a 22R or 22RE... you are going to have to replace the tranny and motor mounts or look into available adapter options. Might add to your overall cost. Thing is, you can find 3.0 vehicles often with a bad motor for very cheap. Throw in a 3.4 and you have a very good HP to weight ratio, Toyota reliability and a very fun to drive Toyota. ![]()

Well, I am 6'4" and to be honest, there is no way I'd get a 1st or 2nd Gen pickup regardless of tranny. The standard cab is just to small. The X-Tra cabs might be all right if you move back the seat rails. Or for short distance, trail type use.
For your height, I'd start looking at the 3rd Gen pickups. The X-Tra cab versions of those have tons of leg room. Since you started this thread with an engine swap in mind, slapping a 3.4 into a 3rd Gen would really be a great truck to drive. ![]() I am not aware of any auto tranny upgrades... but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Perhaps others will chime in.

Ive sat in one for 6hrs straight, but I didn't drive it. I kind of put my legs in a propped against the door and one laying underneath the one propped against the door and my knees didnt bother me. If I did the swap I would put in a dash from a 3rd gen pickup\tacoma with cruise control. I may have to go with a 3rd gen anyway im 15 and im not going to stop growing any time soon lol.
