swap costs and parts needed

I know, do a search... I'm on a time crunch and am about to spend $1,000 on a 4runner and need to know info fast.

If I have a 1998 4runner with a 3.4 motor, I want to put it into my 88 4runner. My 4runner has an IFS and a 22rte in it.

I need to know what else I will need (the 98 will have the wiring harness and a good motor and everything with it). I know I'll need motor mounts, I can fab them up. I also know I'll need something to mate the motor to my 5spd tranny.

I guess I should be more specific, what is needed to install the motor in my 4runner and make it work with the wiring/fuel.

Thanks!

The majority of the info you will need is here.

http://www.offroadsolutions.com/tech.html

The rest you can get from this site, Pirate4X4, ttora, etc.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the donor 4runner. I got myself a 1998 4runner that was rolled but the whole drive train is good with less than 80,000 miles. It has an e-locker in the rear that will now go in mine, I bought the thing for $1000 and I'm pretty sure I can rob the motor and locker, part the rest and make all my money back. Time for me to do some research on what I gotta do to get this motor swap done!

Almost a guarantee!!

I paid 180 for my donor 97 Runner and made $2100 selling off parts that I wasnt going to use. It was in absolutely immaculate condition however. This is also condering that I gave the seats to a friend, the master and booster and the rear third and front calipers. Those all would have brought even more cash.

I is almost a part time job checking the classified and packing and sending though but worth it.

Good luck
