Taco feels like it downshifts after its stopped

Every now and then when I come to a redlight and stop, about 1-2 seconds after stopping the truck feels like it drops into first or something weird. Is this normal and what is it? I thought I read something like this one time and it was just that the driveshaft needed lubing.

Do a search on "axlewrap". It's caused by soft springs and has nothing to do with lubing the driveshaft.

Thanks! I found your post about it and the part numbers for the leafs. I was reluctant to think it was a lube problem because in the 12k miles ive owned the truck the driveshaft has been greased every 5k miles.

No problem There is mistaken conclusion amongst some that lubing the driveshaft somehow cures soft springs... You can overfill the slip-joint, which will stiffen the driveshaft and help reduce the effects, but it's only temporary, doesn't address the root of the problem and can put extra shock load on the u-joints.

If you want to learn more about axlewrap, do a Google search. Automotive enthusiasts have been attempting to combat it for years and years with traction bars and leaf enhancements.

Best of luck!
