Unhappy self adjusting break question

Ok i just put some new shoes on the rear of the runner and they seem to get to tight after a day of driving (causing the truck to lurch to a stop) if i were to drive on snow and ice i would believe that that would cause me to loose control. what do you guys think i should do? I have loosened them up a bit and cleaned them again but I think they are going to tighten up again. I replace the old one because they were dragging and the shoe material had gotten so hot that they cracked.

Dragging brakes is rarely the fault of the shoe or pad. You've got an internal problem. Perhaps someone with more experience has seen this before. FYI, most 'self-adjusting' brakes require you to use the parking brake frequently.
