2000 tacoma questions
Hi, purchased a black 2000 tacoma extended cab, 2.7, auto yesterday with 31m miles, and want to performance maint. today.
(no owners manua)
Oil capacity with filter for 2.7 ltr 4 cylinder? (number of quarts)
Toyota oil filter number? I have some 08922-02011 left from a 3400 v-6 4runner but not listed on application? (It has a fram on it now that I want to get off)
What "weight" of oil 5/30, 10/30?
Coolant capacity (anti-freeze) capacity for same motor. (number of quarts), anything special?, red toyota or any standard?
What type of brake fluid... DOT 3?
THis has a factory toyota tonneau (sp) cover and there is supposed to be some tool to remove snaps/fasteners? anyone have a photo or can draw pic?, my brother works at a machine shop and can fab if we need to?
Anything else I should watch (now that I have bought it), on Tacoma's or the 2.7?

Good idea (on the (Fram), the 3.4 filter is the same as the 4 cyl in all Toyota trucks.
What "weight" of oil 5/30, 10/30?
It will call for 5-30, but if you have 10-30 and arent in deep freeze winters, the 10-30 will work fine.

User the Toyota red, no silicates or borates. About 2 gallons if you let it drain enough, so pour in the entire gallon, top off with distilled water till its full, this will net you about a 50/50-60/40 mixture.

Yes!

Its usually in the glove box, but check the tool pouch, its a weird plastic, black in color, I have never actually used on to remove it, you can get by without it.

Perfect, just what I needed, a little maint. and I think I'll have a pretty decent truck.
There was nothing in glove box, regarding the "tool" for the cover removal, I understand your explaination, and I'll be a little more physical with it tonight, I think I'll be fine.
Amazing the amount of stuff you look for when the owners manual is missing ( and then never read again).
