Yes, swaps similiar have been done several times before. Check:

www.supratrucks.com

I've done 2 1JZ swaps, never done a 2JZ, though. It shouldn't be that much different, just a little more costly. Which model 5-speed tranny are you planning on using?

Thanks for the tip!
I would like to use the R150 (or is it R151?) from the V6, since i have it now... Do you have to make your own bellhousing for that? Do u have any better idea?
Thanks!

I'm about to start on this swap into my '91 4runner, over here this conversion has been done alot in surfs (thats what the 4runners are in NZ) and hilux's, search around at Offroad Express and see what you can find, or you could ask some q's.

I don't know all the ins and outs as I've never done it before, but the guy helping has done a few 1JZ/2JZ swaps. I can tell you that there are adapters made to go from that engine to your trans (i'm using the same trans), and the only fab work I know of is new engine mounts, and possibly oil sump.

I would research it and give it a go, they go well and are well worth it. 4 wheels spinning on dry tarmac on 35's - Gotta luv it!
