Smile Can you help me identify the parts I need on this SAS

Hi there,
Can someone please tell me what axle this is, also are these High crossover steering arms?

I need all 4 Tie rod ends or whatnot, I just do not know what to order here, as My truck is a 93, but the axle is a 83, im confused to whether this is a high crossover or not, if so, where I would I get these parts? I am in Canada, I dont mind ordering off the internet if you know any good shops.

I am new to this truck, just bought it a few days ago, I am learning .. ANY help would be much appreciated!

Yes this is a crossover steering and it looks like my allpro kit i have. It is a 83.5-85 axle because of the truss on the bottom of the axle.

Thanks

Great ! So 4 of those rod ends will work for me 2 right and 2 left? Nice to see them cheap, I almost just bought the entire steering kit for over 300... I need to replace all 4 on my vehicle as there is some play in each joint.

Also, what are heim joints? same thing? Will i need those?

If I'm not mistaken, the heim joints are for the rod ends on a link style suspension setup (i.e. 3 link or 4 link). This, I don't see any reason that you would need them.

^ Agreed. You should just need the 4 tre's. Be sure to order the correct threads, ie. left/right.

Okay so I snapped a rear leaf spring, is there a cheaper place than allprooffroad.com to get them?

thank u guys very much, I have those 2 concerns fixed. Now I have something else that needs fixing, the front end ball joint. I believe there are pins one in top, one in bottom, well the top pin is not there anymore and need those parts. This is one link I found, it looks like the pins come with the entire set of gaskets and everything, yet all I need are these pins.... is it possible to buy the top and bottom pins seperate? Is this the kit I need? http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/index...liminator.html

Also this kit from that link above will do both sides, and with that installed + the 4 new steering Tie rod ends installed, there should be no other area for wheel play right?

You are referring to the pins on the bottom of the steering arms right? That link is for a trunion bearing eliminator kit, unless that kit was previously installed on your truck, your pins should look more like this:

ok I had it in the shop and theres a lot of vertical movement on the wheel / knuckle... My mechanic friend said the top pin was snapped because there was so much play in the knuckle, but the bottom pin still attached..... Yet, I see nowhere where I can buy the top pins? Does it even have top pins? Or perhaps it only has the lower pins, would this be all I need to replace ? Do I also have to get bearings for these? IS this the only part that would cause vertical play?

Start by going here and downloading the FSM for your truck/axle. Pull the steering arm to verify that the pin is actually broken, probably just bad bearings. Not sure if you can buy just the pins, but they come on new arms here. If it's bad trunion bearings, pick up a knuckle rebuild kit or the trunion eliminator you linked above and you will be good to go. Good luck!
