Check Sports Chalet for the hell of it? They might have what you need.

I'm still really interested in going out with you guys. Like I said, I haven't been out for a while but want to get back into wheeling. What type of terrain do you expect? Pretty easy?

I can't remember where I bought my bag, but it was either Sports Authority in Mission Valley or A16 off the 8 freeway by Mission Gorge rd. A16 has some really nice stuff.

Thanks guys. The mummy bag I got is so tight that I cannot move in it at all. I know that is the point of a mummy type bag but I am just not comfortable in it. It is a good REI bag if anyone is in the need. I would let it go very reasonably.
So wheeling it is for the weekend of 15-17 Dec ah Marc? We need to make this a good one.

eric, http://www.sportsmansguide.com/brows...sp?c=81&ipp=48has lots of bags to choose from. Pay attention to the temperature rating, I got the 50$ -15 guide gear one, the quality is good and the size is good, but it gets hot when its not very cold outside.
Since no one has any input about the difficulty of the trails, Im gonna assume my buddies truck will get F'd up if he brings it, He wouldn't be a happy guy if his 30,000$ truck got smashed up.
Marc, WTF? Your rig didn't make it in the calendar? HAHA

The only trail talked about so far that I have done is Coyotee Canyon and that trail is silly easy. I would do it in a fully stock 4x4 without a locker. The draw to it is that it is rocky and has some unusual views like driving through what looks like a bamboo tunnel in a creek.

I think I can make this run...
I would drive down Friday night to Julian and camp with some friends who have a motor home, then meet you guys Sat morning.
I just need to know the meeting place and time.

How many of you guys think you'll be making this run? I really want to go. Are there any areas where a slightly larger rig (FJ80) would have a problem? My 80 is now my "off road" rig so I wouldn't be bringing the 'Runner.
Since I just started the build up on the 80, I'm not fully outfitted yet (no Hi-Lift or C.B. yet) so I'd like to make sure everybody is OK with that first. If so, I think you can count me in.
Has anyone decided whether you'll be getting breakfast in Julian or just grabbing some fast food on the way up? What about dinner Sat? Is it usually every man for himself or are you more social than that?
Just trying to get an idea what to expect.

Not sure about breakfast, depends on how ealy you want to get up there. Dinner will probably be up to you. Normally we have a central camping spot, and a BBQ. But this time the camping spot is part of the adventure.
Your 80 should be fine. I have seen full size rigs go through.
Looks like we will have some company out there..

They are starting at Canyon Sin Nombre..we have about a 1.5 hour drive down Oriflamme/Rodriguez truck trail before we get there. They will probably be an hour ahead of us.....but you know jeeps, 4 low on the flat stuff.
