I graduated in '99 with a degree in computer science.

I'm not signed up yet, but I've been thinking that it would be a blast. I just found out about this wealth of information known as YotaTech. It seems like there are a lot of great people on here and it would be neat to meet some of you guys. Gotta check with the wifee about the Pismo trip.

00Runner,

Bring the wife. There will be many wives and some kids on the trip too. Its going to be a family-friendly event.

Anybody from the Sacto area heading down want to meet somewhere and possibly setup meeting spots for others on the way and do a caravan type thing?

my email: sumdumguy@lazyachers.com
If you go 80W to 680S to 101S we can caravan down together.
I went to school in SLO and I'm looking forward to getting back down to Pismo. PM Me

Yeah, I can go that route if people want to meet up and cruise down together.

We'll need to setup meeting spots along the way for anyone else that wants to join in. Approximate times might be a good idea also.

Guys,

The vehicle count is up to SEVENTEEN! Looks like this is going to shape up to be a pretty cool trip.

Check out the latest updates at http://www.4runners.org/misc/pismo.html

Whip?

Looking on the Pismo (oceano) dunes website, I saw this:

EQUIPMENT
All vehicles operating in the SVRA (beach and dune area south of Post 2), must be equipped with the following:

An adequate muffler. (Required for vehicle operation in any area.)

An 8' whip with an orange or red flag with a minimum size of 6" x 12".

Ok, maybe a dumb question but im assuming they sell 8' whips with orange or red flags out there? If not where can I get one. Anyone have any idea on this?

Oh wow, I musta missed that little tidbit of information. Thanks for the heads-up.

Ummm, as far as finding them, I think most wheelin shops would have them, or go to one of the ATV shops, they definitely should have them.

Guys,

Most if not all the ATVs had them but the 4WD SUV/Trucks did not.

Not saying that it isn't necessary, just what I observed.

Guys,

I updated the site. We're up to 19 vehicles (not including possible "guest" vehicles). This is shaping up to be one helluva trip! Check to see whose coming at http://www.4runners.org/misc/pismo.html and click on any of the "confirmed guest" links.

Also, I have a couple o' suggestions of activities to throw out and I wanted to get your response:

1) The "Pismo 4RJ Clam Cup"- an event that will encompass several games. It might be something kind of like Fear Factor w/o the dangerous games. Some of the games will include vehicle related stuff (like an obstacle course) and some will be non-vehicle related. I haven't thought of "what", but it could include physical activities too. The winner will win the (soon-to-be coveted) "Pismo 4RJ Clam Cup"

2) Group and Individual pictures- set up a time for a group picture and individual pics

3) Flea Market- a time to trade/barter and/or sell parts. Let's try to keep this as non-commercial as possible.

That's just some of the ideas that came to the top of my head today.

Whaddya guys think?

Bob

Yup, we need a shot for historical (hysterical?) purposes. I'll at least be bringing my digital cam, and possibly a digital vid cam for some footage also.
