Fall Colors Run 2006-Greenwater, WA.
Finally, a rig I can take out on a run.
Last year I had to stick around for my Boeing recall letter which showed up a few days after.
The year before I rode with Rob as the 4Runner had been pretty sick not being fed Boeing bucks to keep it going.
The Greenwater area looks magnificent during the fall when the leaves are changing colors up there.
This is an easy run, mainly just a run to get out of the city.
Stock rigs can do this just fine.
There may be snow at the top of the loop we do, but we have never had any trouble on it in the past.
Rob (WATRD) has often find some side trails to explore too if anyone feels like trying some harder stuff.
But for the most part it is mainly on logging roads giving great views of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding mountain range peaks.
No date is set yet, but it generally takes place near the end of September early October.
We can set a date later when it gets closer.

I'll be home visiting family in Idaho from 11-27 September. I could be there in 6 hours if it drops on a weekend during that time frame.

We have found in the past that we have gone up to early in Sept., and missed out on the changing of the colors.
Then one year in Nov. we went up we had snow on the same 72 route

I think if we time it for either of the two weekends at the top of this post we will run into the best display of colors.
If you have to ship out before that, we can try for the 23rd, but the colors may not all be out yet.

Anyone have a Farmers Almanac
I have never used one, and I am sure one is online, we should try and check to see the long range forecast for that date.
Also my neighbor across from me is one of the chief weathermen for the FAA up here in Auburn, and he is always dead on.
I will hit him up for a long range forecast, and try and get a copy to scan.

September 1-30 is archery season, early Oct 7-13 is Muzzeloader season (If that area has any open places....those are the general state dates)
You talking Greenwater, right? (that is the White River game unit)
The White River unit, 653, is not open for any general muzzeloader seasons (maybe special permits, but way fewer people)

OK, the 7th sounds good to me, and between 8:30 am to 9 am at the Enumclaw Safeway.
Can we get a head count of who is going to come?

Have been above Greenwater a few times, mostly getting to the north boundary of Rainier.
Would like to join the group and at this point in time pretty sure I can make it.
I'm guessing most the trip would be on forest roads or side jeep trails rather than xsheetmetal thrashing hard core rock crawling?
Looking forward to meeting some local YotaTech users.

I am not taking a brand new $30K rig and doing any thrashing to the sheet metal
If anyone else wants to thrash theirs, there are ops to do so.
There were two runs last weekend many went on where there was plenty of ops to do just that.
