4th of July Weekend in NM
Official Announcement:
I will be hosting a wheelin' trip in NM over the 4th of July (my birthday) weekend. The 4th is a Tuesday. Therefore, I will be off of work from approximately 12:00 noon Friday June 30th until 12:00 noon July 5th.
For now we will consider my place in Albuquerque home base. Josh (Bad Monkey, 2004 Taco) lives across the street from me and we have cool neighbors as well. You are welcome to camp in one of our back yards or I can suggest a camp grounds or hotel close by.
You are welcome to join us for any part of the weekend. Please let me know if you plan to attend so that I can give you directions and we can be expecting you.
We will wheel in Socorro (1hr south of Albuquerque) on Saturday. There are many trails of all ranges in an OHV area called Gordy's Hill. There we can split and run whatever we want or stay in one group. It really depends on how many people and what rigs arrive.
We will wheel in Santa Fe (1hr north of Albuquerque) on the Tank Trap on Sunday. This is what I would consider a moderate trail, there is one off camber section, lots of rocks, but plenty of bypasses. It will be fun for our group and shouldn't be too long of a day.
We can wheel in an area called Rio Puerco (just outside of Albuquerque) on Monday. This is what I would consider an easy to moderate area, but still fun. There are plenty of optional obstacles on which those who can flog can play as well.
I hope to see the SW regulars as well as some newbies come out to play.

Any other interest on here? Come on New Mexicans...we have never hosted a 4Runner event as long as I have been 4Runnin'. Now's our chance to show off our state.

Sorry guys, work is killing me again. I am going to be at an undisclosed location driving tow rigs around for people breaking undisclosed trucks for fun and publication.
At least when I am back to school there will be more time and less money. If that is a good thing...

Thanks Jim.
When I am back to school, things will slow down I hope. Going to big events is cool in some respects, but I miss the guys I am used to wheeling with.
Moab will work. I have to have the rig done and at the very least I can leave Friday night if school/work don't cooperate.

I am going to try to work a deal for some hotel rooms and there is camping (free) in my back yard. If you are thinking about coming down, let me know.

My dad's brother and his family live there.
I'll have Logan and Peter with me. Hannah will be at her dad's for the summer. It'll be nice to see you, too. Any chance SteveO will be there?

Jim - you part of NM TTORA? If not, you should check them out - Adam and Brian (Pres and VP) are GREAT guys. Wheeled with Brian this weekend - he does stuff with an IFS that will make you rethink SAS!

Yep, things are set.
Saturday - Jaws of Death, Los Lunas. Meet at Kicks 66 off of exit 203 at 8:00 AM
Sunday - Tank Trap, Santa Fe. Meet at the intersection of 599 and Airport Rd at 9:00 AM
Monday - Rio Puerco, Rio Rancho. Meet at the end of Southern at 9:00 AM
We will be running on channel 4 on the CB. If 4 is too busy try 7.
I hope to see you there. If you aren't gonna make it send me a message or give me a call.
