Thinking about getting an FJ, your opinions, and tire question.

Looks like I'll be in the car market in a few months. I love my '95 4Runner, and honestly the closest thing I can find to it in new production is the FJ. The new 4Runners don't do a thing for me.

Anyway, I like the factory options like rear locker, sliders, roof rack, etc. Seems like a nice solid setup.

The BFG Long Trails don't excite me at all. I've used them before, and they sucked bigtime. Would much rather the ATs or MTs. Can you fit 33s on there stock? All the FJs I see around here are bone stock soccermom mobiles, so it's hard to visualize.

Also, is the factory optional front bumper any good, or would it be worth it to hold out for one of the aftermarket ones?

Various mechanical repairs, removed wheel well trim and running boards, Moog variable rate rear coils, BFG 33x10.5x15 MT KM2s, wheels painted black, Sony CD/MP3 player w/USB input, 6 ½” front speakers.

To come:
Hella 500FFs, Aisin manual hubs, Sonoran Steel IFS brace, Addicted Offroad front bumper, rear bumper, sliders, Yakima Load Warrior & various mounts, snorkel, some kind of idler arm brace, rear locker (not sure which yet).

There's also the double cab Tacoma. I don't think the optional front bumper is good for any protection but just for looks. I think the most you can fit stock is a 32 inch tire. Not sure though.

FJ's are SWEET. Whenever I'm in our Kenworth T-800, I keep an eye out for FJ's because hot soccer moms are always going to the grocery store in them wearing shorty shorts.

I love FJ's. They are a sure bet for seeing down a hot milf's blouse on a fine trucker's evening.

I kinda figured about the bumper, didn't look all that substantial.

I also eyed the TRD double cab Tacos, they're a good bit cheaper when equiped about the same (about $27k opposed to $33k), but I really don't have any use for an open bed, and am not crazy about a camper shell. I love my 4Runner and really want to stick with the whole small(ish) SUV thing.
