07 Base model

There's one cheap on the lot, its never been sold so they are basically taking offers. Its dead base model, not even tinted glass. Still a nice truck though. Voodoo blue, Auto, etc etc.. My parents are sort of interested in it.. not sure yet. Anything to look out for besides the coil over towers cracking?

What options would you recommend? We want to be able to carry bikes on the roof, what aftermarket parts are worth getting? Wondering about durability as in.. are the brakes adequate? can it actually tow 5000 pounds, how are the OEM shocks and such holding up? Would a base model be equipped with the rear locker? the brochure says its standard equipment on FJ's but I dont believe it. What fuel economy are you averaging.. EPA numbers aren't always right. Any other information is appreciated

An FJ is an FJ.
It's going to be a nice rig either way.

As far as durability goes - they've only been out for two years now but it's a Yota. I think you'll be fine.

I can't believe they have an '07 still on the lot.
We've got about 15 '08's on ours - our company, Germain Motor Company has 10 Toyota dealerships and I've only been able to find 2 '07s.

I don't think they have the locker as standard equipment.

The 2009's are going to be coming out soon - if that '07 stays there for very long you could get a KILLER deal on it I bet.

Even the '08s are going to be going for cheap here soon.

Offer them a few thousand below their asking rice with the rebates/incentives included, and see if they bite.

The windshields crack like mofos. I know a guy with an '07 on his 3rd windshield already.

I like the concept of the FJ, but I can't imagine them being in production for very much longer.
