wiring up transmission

well here it is. im putting a 3.0 into a1990 4runner. i pulled the engine from an old 91 yota rv that was 2 wheel drive and there is a couple extra plugs missing for the trans mission the e.c.m plugs are identical i just need some insight on wiring up some more plugs for the 4 wheel drive on the 4runner im missing a black and a blue connector im new to the site so even a point to the right thread or sticky would be appreciated .thanks

I assume your 4Runner is a 4wd. and it is already a 3.0. You didn't say if it was auto or manual. If auto you have the plugs for the 4wd indicator and possibly an ADD motor. If manual you have the plugs for the 4wd indicator and the back up lights.
If this was just an engine swap the easiest route would be to use the sensors, injectors and the engine wiring harness from the engine that you took out of your 4runner and swap them onto the engine that you are putting into your 4Runner, then everything matches up and you have no wiring headaches!

Thanks for the help yes it is a automatic and 3.0 now how hard is it to get all the wires off and on new engine?

It may take a little time, but unless you research and prove that the sensors, injectors and associated plugs are the same between the two years, you need to swap sensors & injectors as well as the harness. If you are unsure of the harness swap label each connector as you take it off with a sharpie and masking tape as you remove them, take lots of notes!

every thing appears the same except connecter going to dash and i will research the yrs most of the connecters are color coded so i think im golden. i really appreciate the help
