separate rotor from rear end frame on denso alternator
my haynes manual says that I should be able to completely remove the alternator rotor from both the front & rear housings, by removing a 'thrust washer', and the pictures in the manual show the rotor completely out; Yet I cant separate it from the rear housing, it seems like its either stuck, or the rear bearing is pressed into the housing. How should the rotor be removed? do I need to use a puller or press, or should it just come off with some pressure?
I want to clean up the housings & paint them (masking off the windings of course). Plus, I was thinking about going ahead & replacing the bearings. this is why Im trying to remove the rotor...
