info on basic automotive wiring?
Hey all,
I'm looking for a good website or book with info on basic automotive wiring and electrical stuff. Things like how to safely wire up new circuits and how to find switched vs. constant 12v sources and things like that. I bought a set of heated leather, 8 way power seats for my gmc and I figured that wiring them up myself was a good excuse to learn this stuff. I have some info on which wires should be switched, which constant, and which grounds but I've never done this sort of stuff before and I don't want to fry anything (including myself!). I checked a few local bookstores and couldn't find anything appropriate. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks 89dlx
I found another site that's even more basic for complete newbies like myself!

Good info on that site (just saved it to my favorites list).
I do suggest you buy a fairly decent AC/DC multimeter. A test light has its uses, but also it's very limited in diagnosing electrical issues.

Yeah, I think I'll pick up a decent meter, soldering gun and the rest of the gear that I need to do it right. That is a great site, I've gone through quite a bit of it now and learned alot.
