Talking Hid fog lights!!!:D

Got my new set of Ebay HID fog lights in the mail today.

Opened them up to find a chinese/japanese box.

They seem to be good quality. They are matte powder coated and the little grilles come off. Thinking about buying some KC covers or something like that.

They came with a heck of a wiring harness. 2 40Amp relays, 2 fuses and a switch that controls each light separately but i wired up my own switch that i like better, its stainless steel with a light on it that will control both of them at the same time.

Im stoked, but i dont have my truck right now and probably wont till next week or later So ill just have to wait to put them on.

I will get some pictures tonight of them on and put them up later.

One more thing. can i run 4 lights off one switch if they all have thier own relay and fuse? I dont see why not. all the switch is for is to turn on the relay so it shouldnt be high voltage right?

You do realize they should be used offroad only right? yes they are bright how ever they throw out a bunch of unfocused light. On a dark rainy night you coul very well cause an accident by very much blinding oncoming traffic. Long story short, please reserve them for offroad use only.

Yes vital Im aware. Thanks though, they are way to bright to use on the road. They will be used mostly for hunting season to go in and get the deer I shoot, and similar thing.
They were 125$ on eBay with free shipping.

Vital, yeadh they had free shipping. The sellers name was dotcomracing. Planning on potting them on the trail gear bumper. Just not sure where yet. In the stinger?

OC, what pattern do you think they are? Driving? I kinda had them focused onto one spot and was pretty close. But what do you think?

Just put them on the truck, They sent me a second set for some reason. I only ordered one. Im not complaining. If they charge me then i will pay but if not then im not saying a word. Didnt have room for 4 or i would have used it to.

These things are awesome! Pictures dont do them justice!!!

Headlights only

Headlights and fog lights

I love these things. Really bright, and solid nice construction!

What do yall think?

Fog light lenses would have a wide and low beam pattern.
Yours could be considered a pencil or spot beam.
Edit- this thread has a good example of a fog light pattern-

They are deffinetly not fogs. More of spots. They really don't focus the light in a clean control beam. My Hella 550 comet driving lights have a really focused beam for distance. The yellow fogs in my number are from a Lexus es300 and they have a cut off shield so the pattern has a nice cut off and spread out light, true fogs.

with the 3 of them up front blocking air flow to the radiator I would suggest watching your temp gauge and maybe pull the center light...

Not familiar with Pearland tx. area but as long as it does'nt get crazy hot like west tx desert or humid like houston the third light should'nt make that much diff. but keep an eye on it anyways... you could mount the 4th light in back as an extra reverse/work light...
with the 3 up front aim the middle one straight ahead and the other two slightly right/left for a good pattern [off road use only]...
also be careful how when you use them deer hunting the game rangers might accuse you of "jacking" which is illegal in most places...

Yeah, i dont want to be accused of spot lighting the deer. And Pearland is actually part of Houston. Kinda south of Houston in between there and Galveston. But im gonna watch it, if i have a problem its two bolts to take it off.

And yeah i still have a little more adjusting to be happy with the aim on them, but ill give that a try. And yes definitely off road only. Way to bright.

And thanks Irab, just checking.
