Best Place to Tap into ACC Power?
I'm working on a PRE mechanical fuel pump 20R and I have to put an electric fuel pump onto it in the engine bay. Where is the best place on a truck that was originally built for mechanical fuel pump to get power from? I want to tap into the Accessory switch on the ignition, the same one you use for a stereo, and use it to power my fuel pump. Where is the best spot to get the power? Fuse box? Anywhere else come to mind? Thanks, Ditchpig

the quick and dirty was would be behind the fuse box (or wrapped around the ACC fuse (bad)) you could also find it behind the radio, among several other places.
Does the fuel pump take a lot of power? because if it does i imagine you should run the ACC to a relay to the fuel pump, or does it have a relay built in?

be careful with using the accessory line. with some vehicles, when you go to start the truck, it disconnects the accessories so all the power can go to the starter. so you would have your fuel pump on when you're in ACC then once you go to start it, you'd have no fuel pump. wire it into the ignition some how so it's on when the key is in the "on" position
