AC issue... always on...
so I get out of my truck in the parking lot com back and there is a pool under it I'm thinking oh F#*#, check it just water... think huh I didn't have the ac on...
the switch in the cab is off the light on the switch is off but if I turn the thermostat to the cool side sure enough cold air... WTF
I guess its better then no AC but i know its killing my fuel economy
any ideas?

err duh
1999 tacoma
as to defrost on yota`s does it automatically turn on the ac compressor to dry the air???
every car I have had defrost setting just determined where the air flow was directed and the ac if wanted had to be turned on manually... as to whether it was on defrost i don't know i noticed this a few days back...
I'm only at work so ill go play with it in the lot.
and yes i did search but didn't see the same issue

I`m guessing that you are correct and that it was in defrost...
that's weird i have never had a car that automatically turned on the compressor before... but when I turn it to defrost the RPM`s go up so....
well now that i feel like a complete fool at least i know its not an issue
